I see that LG are making a competitor to the HTC Vive. Surprised they are choosing to make it with a lead connecting it to the PC though. Thought they might have ditched that in favour for making it wireless. It's the one thing that is a pain with the Vive, the fact that you end up tripping over the wire.
I wonder if the cable is just being used for development purposes. There will soon be a globally available third-party wireless adaptor for the HTC Vive (currently only available in China), however, some early users report that the battery pack used to power it is a but cumbersome and gets very warm. I have also heard that HTC themselves are working towards making the headset completely wireless on the next generation of the Vive.
To that end, I'd be very surprised if LG released it's VR offering with cables. In fact, I would imagine SteamVR would be pushing for LG's device to be wireless.
